Snoring is a disorder which may be caused due to breathing troubles. There is lot of researches made by doctors about .They analyze what are the reasons and what are the treatments to stop snoring.Researches at Oregon Health and Science University have shown some factors that cause snoring. They are poor muscle tone, long uvula, long soft palate, nose blocks, bulky tissues in throat.

Avoid eating “rich” foods such as cakes, cookies, chocolate and pizza.Sleep on a firmer pillow, a pillow that’s too soft encourages your throat muscles to relax and narrows your air passageway.Inhale steam before sleeping or sleep in a room with a humidifier turned on, which will reduce congestion and moisturize the throat.Dr. Lipman is an ENT specialist who devoted his work in treating and other sleeping disorders. In his book he has written in detail about snoring problems and the relevant treatments. One of the solution is to purchase some nasal strips and put them on before going to sleep. Nasal strips will open up your nostrils and allow more air to come in, thus reduce snoring.

If snoring has become an issue in your personal life between you and your spouse, you may want to consider some lifestyle changes that may help with your snoring. Simple changes may be all that are needed to address your snoring, but if your weight is a problem, that may be the best place to start. A man even 20 percent overweight will be prone to snore. There have been studies that link the consumption of vitamin C with an increased possibility of snoring. Smoking is also a known contributor to the increased likelihood of snoring. Smoking creates mucous in the throat that will reduce airflow and bring on the higher possibility. Irritation in the throat caused by smoking is also a known factor in snoring.

Recently, a new form of treatment for snoring has been introduced. This involves the implantation of three non-absorb able, nonreactive implants into the palate. This procedure is done under topical/local anesthetic in the physician’s office. These implants serve to stiffen and dampen the vibration of the palate and thus relieve snoring. Patients are able to return to work within a day or two. There is minimal pain that requires non-narcotic analgesia as the usual course.

It is estimated that up to 40% of males over the age of 40 snore consistently. Women tend to snore less, but a significant population of women over the age of 40 will also consistently snore quite loudly. Snoring can be an indicator of a more serious disease and is known to wreak havoc on relationships. There are foods you can enjoy that do not increase your chance of snoring. First, if you eat dinner early in the evening, you reduce the chance it will contribute to snoring. Lobster or scallions are recommended for not inducing snoring. It is believed that they help to reduce and even eliminate snoring by toning the trachea. There are others that are also considered to be snoring-friendly foods including mustard greens, pears, thyme, horseradish, onions, garlic, leeks and seaweed.

The Oregon snoring Health and Science University suggests that One of the devices which can be used against snoring is mandibular advancement splint. Such dental appliances advance the lower jaw slightly and leave the tongue forward. They help reduce snoring and sleep apnea, however they have side effects, such as the change of the snorer’s bite.
