Over the years, people have been able to come up or even formulate various causes of snoring. These causes are usually categorized into two groups for example, causes within our control, such as habitual factors and causes that are out of our control, like factors to do with your sex(male or female). The following are some of the reasons that you may end up finding yourself snoring in sleep and then start wondering how it came to be.

Old age is one of the reasons you may find yourself snoring as it is one of the while sleeping. The reason behind this is that,as you age, your throat muscles become more weaker and usually this makes the surrounding tissues within your throat to sag and be able to vibrate. This makes you produce noisy sounds as you sleep which is said to be snoring.

Allergies and ailments such as asthma,a cold or even sinus infections may lead to you snoring in your sleep as they bring about breathing problems in a person. Such breathing difficulties cause a blockage in your nasal airways and make inhalation process a complicated affair. In the long run, this process creates a vacuum in your throat and thus you start experiencing noisy breathing which actually is snoring in reality.

Alcohol and certain medications for instance, tranquillizers and those used to treat certain ailments may sometimes increase relaxation of the human throat and tongue muscles. This increases the chances of you snoring even more and this is likely to take place as these commodities also affect your central nervous system which causes tremendous relaxation of your muscles including those in the throat hence making you snore in your sleep.

Another is by you being overweight or what is termed as being out of shape. The reason here is that excess weight and the fatty tissues in your neck causes the throat to become a little bit smaller than the way it was before. If you are overweight, your throat tissues become less firm and even more inclined for vibration when you breathe. This leads to poor muscle tone and lax muscles which lead to you having a snoring condition.

Your physiology may also contribute to you having to experience snoring when you are sleeping. The shape of your airway passage may make snoring more likely as you may have inherited a narrow throat or even any of the physical deformities which lead to snoring.

Bad sleeping posture habits also add to the list of causes which lead to snoring. As you sleep on your back, you exacerbate the snoring problem. This is because the tissues in the back of your throat including the tongue are more prone to slide backwards which will block the airway hence definitely this habit finding itself being branded as one of the major causes of snoring among people.

Having a stuffy nose may also be considered to be a cause why you snore.stuffy noses mostly make inhalation a hard task to accomplish at the end of the day. This is because they create a vacuum in your throat therefore making you experience noisy breathing. In fact, just like many people who usually snore oftenly, you may find yourself snoring even louder when you are suffering from allergies or a colds. For those causes of snoring that are avoidable, you are highly advised to avoid them.Snoring should not be taken as a light problem due to the fact that it brings about many disorders.
